They Conversano (Cunvhrsènh in dialect conversanese) it is a commune of 25.033 inhabitants of the province in Bari, situated to around 30 south km in Bari, on the first reliefs of the Murgia. Of origin preromana, in the XI century became center of a wide county on a meaningful part of center-southern Puglia, whose importance was not diminished that with the sunset of the feudal structure. Important religious center since the Middle Ages, the town is center of the diocese of Conversano-Monopoli.
